Formerly known as the Selous Game Reserve, the area is now part of Nyerere National Park, one of Tanzania’s most impressive wildlife destinations. This safari combines the convenience of flying from Zanzibar with exciting game drives and a unique boat safari along the Rufiji River.
Your adventure begins with a convenient flight from Zanzibar to an airstrip serving Nyerere National Park. Upon arrival, meet your professional safari guide and continue into the wilderness in a comfortable 4x4 safari vehicle.
Enjoy your first game drive as you explore the park's diverse landscapes, including open plains, woodland, wetlands, lakes, and river environments. Keep your camera ready for elephants, giraffes, buffalo, lions, hippos, crocodiles, antelopes, wild dogs, and numerous bird species.
One of the highlights of this safari is the Rufiji River boat safari. Leave the safari vehicle behind and experience Tanzania's wildlife from the water. Your safari begins with hotel pickup in Zanzibar and transfer to Zanzibar Airport for your scheduled flight to Nyerere National Park.
Upon arrival at the safari airstrip, meet your professional safari driver-guide and begin your adventure in the wilderness.
Board your 4x4 safari vehicle and start your first game drive.
Explore the park's open plains, woodland, wetlands, lakes, and wildlife areas while searching for Tanzania's iconic animals.
Depending on the day's schedule, you may have opportunities to see elephants, giraffes, buffalo, lions, zebras, wildebeest, impalas, hippos, crocodiles, and many bird species.
Enjoy lunch during the safari or at your lodge, depending on the day's arrangements.
Continue with an afternoon game drive before heading to your accommodation.

Transfer to the safari airstrip in time for your scheduled flight back to Zanzibar.
Upon arrival in Zanzibar, your driver will meet you and transfer you back to your hotel.
