Upon arrival at the safari airstrip, meet your professional safari guide and board a comfortable 4x4 safari vehicle for your first game drive.
Nyerere National Park is famous for its vast landscapes, floodplains, woodlands, and the Rufiji River system. The park is home to elephants, lions, buffalo, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, wild dogs, antelopes, and abundant birdlife. Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed, but your experienced guide will use local knowledge to maximize your opportunities.
One of the highlights of this safari is the Rufiji River boat safari. Leave the safari vehicle behind and experience wildlife from the water as you cruise through the river and surrounding channels. Look for hippos, crocodiles, elephants near the water, waterbuck, buffalo, and a spectacular variety of birds.

Day 1 – Zanzibar → Nyerere National Park → Game Drive & Boat Safari
Your adventure begins with an early hotel pickup and transfer to Zanzibar Airport.
Board your scheduled flight from Zanzibar to an airstrip serving Nyerere National Park.
Upon arrival, meet your professional safari guide and begin your first 4x4 game drive.
Explore the park's open plains, woodland, floodplains, and wildlife areas while searching for Tanzania's iconic animals.
Depending on the flight and park schedule, continue with a Rufiji River boat safari.
Cruise along the river and surrounding waterways while looking for hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffalo, waterbuck, and numerous bird species.
Return to your lodge or safari camp in the evening.
Enjoy dinner and relax beneath the African sky.
