Day 1 – Zanzibar to Mikumi National Park | Boat, Train & Game Drive

Early Morning – Hotel Pickup in Zanzibar
Your safari begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel. Transfer to the Zanzibar ferry terminal for your boat journey to mainland Tanzania.

Boat Transfer – Zanzibar to Dar es Salaam
Board the ferry and enjoy the journey across the Indian Ocean to Dar es Salaam. Upon arrival, meet your mainland transfer team and continue to the railway station.

Train Journey – Dar es Salaam to Mikumi Area
Board the train toward the Mikumi area and enjoy views of Tanzania's countryside as you travel inland.

Arrival & Transfer to Mikumi National Park
Meet your safari guide and continue by road toward Mikumi National Park. After entering the park, begin your first game drive.

Afternoon Game Drive
Explore Mikumi's wildlife-rich plains in search of elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, wildebeest, antelopes, hippos and a variety of bird species. With good luck, you may also spot lions.

Evening – Accommodation
After the game drive, leave the park and check in at your accommodation. Relax, enjoy dinner and spend the night near Mikumi National Park.

Overnight: Mikumi area

Day 2 – Morning Game Drive & Return to Zanzibar

Early Morning – Breakfast & Game Drive
Start the day with an early breakfast before heading back into Mikumi National Park for another game drive. The cooler morning hours are an excellent time to search for active wildlife.

Morning Game Drive
Continue exploring the park with your experienced safari guide. Look for elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, hippos, monkeys and other wildlife while enjoying the scenery of the park.

Late Morning – Exit Mikumi National Park
After the game drive, leave the park and begin your journey toward the railway station.

Train Journey – Mikumi Area to Dar es Salaam
Board the train and relax as you travel back toward Dar es Salaam.

Boat Transfer – Dar es Salaam to Zanzibar
Continue to the ferry terminal and board the boat back to Zanzibar.

Evening – Hotel Drop-Off
Upon arrival in Zanzibar, meet your driver and transfer back to your hotel, marking the end of your 2-day Mikumi safari adventure.

We offer direct hotel pickup from most centrally located accommodations. To confirm if your hotel is eligible, please check your booking confirmation or contact our support team. If your accommodation is outside our standard pickup zone, we will assign you the nearest convenient meeting point.

Check-in Information

Please have your passport or valid identification and booking confirmation ready at the start of the tour.

Hotel pickup time and the exact meeting point will be confirmed before departure. Please be ready at your hotel reception at least 15 minutes before the scheduled pickup time.

For a smooth journey, ensure you arrive on time, as boat and train departures follow fixed schedules and cannot wait for late arrivals.

Cancellation Policy

• Free cancellation up to 14 Days before the activity starts for a full refund.

• 50 % fees for Cancellations made less than 14 days before activities are non-refundable.

• No-shows or late arrivals are non-refundable.

• If the tour is cancelled by Maryam Tours Zanzibar due to unsafe weather, transport disruptions, or other circumstances beyond our control, you will be offered an alternative date or a full refund, subject to the booking terms.

• Changes to the booking are subject to availability and should be requested as early as possible.

• Refunds are processed according to the payment provider's processing times.
